The crew at Muttville are passionate in caring for their furry friends. They are attentive and available. They carefully screen and facilitate the adoptive process. The dogs are loved and sent home with families that will take loving care of them in their new homes. We have worked with other rescue/adoption organizations, and Muttville is the best! Their Seniors for Seniors program is a uniquely successful example of service to the dogs and the community.

Amazing and helpful volunteers. Candy gave her a bath, brushed her teeth, flushed, and cleaned her ears. Harmony has been with us for one week but has a couple of people interested in adopting her. She is absolutely adorable and sweet. My sons love her. Go Harmony!

I love Muttsville! It's a truly amazing SF institution where senior dogs and other "unadoptable" doggies are placed in qualified homes. We were impressed with the organization, and impressed with the support provided us when we adopted Ginsberg. One plus: most of the dogs are fostered, so our little guy has not had any of the issues of institutionalization. He has adapted happily to life in our home. (Not that he's a saint, but he doesn't have that shell-shocked look of a pup who spent too long in a kennel.

I could not believe how wonderful this place is. I took an old dog from our shelter to be placed at Muttville. Everyone was so nice, there were dogs everywhere which was amazing!! She is in such good hands with this group. The dogs were so happy and so calm and so loved by so many people. I can’t wait to go back. Maybe spend some time in their Cuddle Room with a couple dogs. Please visit this place, you will have a boost of life. These little oldsters have so much life.

We are so lucky that Muttville introduced us to our sweet Gwendolyn (Winnie) She is such a wonderful addition to our family. Her little sister, Pixie, adores her! Senior dogs are a delight yo have in your home and Muttville does an excellent job of placing these sweet grannies and grandpas in loving, forever homes. 🥰 Our adoption process was easy & thorough and we've totally felt supported in the decision to adopt from their hospice program. We know we won't have forever with Winnie, but we plan to make her time with us as loving and comfortable as we can.

The dogs at muttvile have been screened for health and dental needs taken care of. They stay in foster homes where the dogs are nurtured and temperament and personality evaluated to find homes that are a good fit.
